CEZ Group’s Profile

CEZ Group is an internationally operating grouping which ranks among the top ten largest European companies on power markets, both according to the number of its customers and its installed capacity. The strategic goal of the Group is to become the leader of power markets in Central and South-Eastern Europe.

CEZ Group’s core activity is electrical energy production and its sale. However, the Group is active in other related areas such as raw material mining, processing of power by-products, construction and maintenance of power facilities or sale of energy. At the same time, CEZ Group ranks among the three biggest heat producers in the Czech Republic.

The parent company and the heart of CEZ Group is the largest electricity producer in the Czech Republic CEZ a.s. (joint-stock company), which was founded by the National Property Fund of theCzechRepublicin 1992. The foundations of the present form of CEZ Group were laid in 2003 when CEZ Power Company merged with distribution companies. Eventually, three distribution companies in Bulgaria, one in Romania and two power plants inPolandbecame part of the Group.
