In addition to supplying electricity to end consumers, regional power distribution companies, which became part of CEZ Group, had a trading function as well. During 2005 the current territorial organization of regional distribution companies of CEZ Group was replaced by so called procedural organization which respects, under the EU´s rules, the policy of strict separation of distribtion as a regulated activity from trade (so called unbundling). The key power distribution and sale activities were taken over by new separate comp anies CEZ Distribuce, a.s., and CEZ Prodej, s.r.o.
The new procedural model of CEZ Group comprises ten companies, each of which performs some of the activities of the power concern. The registered offices are staggered over the whole distribution area. Organized in a new way, CEZ Group operates the distribution network so that reliable and safe electricity supply can be delivered to all customers.
